The definition of woven fabric (Woven):

Woven fabrics are made up of looms in the form of picking, by interlacing the warp and weft directions. The structure generally includes three types of plain weave, satin twill and satin weave and their changes.  This type of fabric is firm, stiff, and not easily deformed due to the interlacing of warp and weft. The composition includes cotton fabrics, silk fabrics, wool fabrics, hemp fabrics, chemical fiber fabrics, and their blended and interwoven fabrics. The use of clothing is in a leading position in the world in terms of variety and production quantity. Widely used in all kinds of high-end clothing, woven clothing has great differences in processing flow and technological means due to the differences in styles, crafts, styles and other factors.

Fine cloth (Lawn)

The muslin in woven fabrics, as the name suggests, is a kind of plain cotton cloth with very fine texture, also known as muslin or fine plain cloth.

Its characteristics are that the cloth body is fine, clean and soft, the texture is light and tight, and the air permeability is good, suitable for summer wear.

In particular, if it is a muslin made of cotton, we can also call it a batiste.

 

 

Voile (Voile)

Balinese yarn in woven fabrics, also known as glass yarn, is a thin and transparent fabric woven with plain weave.

Compared with muslin, it looks like fine folds on the surface.

But it is very similar to the type of clothing suitable for fine cloth, and it is mostly used to make summer women's skirts or tops.

 

 

Flannel

The flannel in the woven fabric is a soft and suede (cotton) wool fabric woven with carded (cotton) wool yarn.

Now there are also chemical fibers or flannel blended with multiple components. Its front and back appearance is the same and its shape retention is good.

Because of its warm hand feel, it is generally only used as autumn and winter clothing.

 

 

Chiffon

The chiffon in the woven fabric is also a light and transparent plain weave fabric.

The structure is loose and not suitable for tight-fitting clothes.

Its common ingredients are silk, polyester or rayon.

 

 

Georgette

The georgette in woven fabrics is similar in thickness to chiffon, so some people mistakenly believe that the two are equivalent.

The difference between the two is that the structure of georgette is relatively loose, and the feel is slightly rougher.

And there are a lot of folds, while the surface of chiffon is smoother and less folds.

 

 

Chambray

Chambray in woven fabrics is a cotton fabric interwoven with single-color warp yarn and bleached weft yarn or bleached warp yarn and single-color weft yarn.

Can be used as shirts, underwear fabrics and duvet covers. Because it is suitable for young people's clothing, it is called youth cloth.

Although the appearance of chambray is similar to denim, there are actually essential differences.

First of all, chambray is plain weave in structure and twill weave is denim.

Secondly, chambray does not have the heaviness of denim, and is more comfortable and breathable than denim.

 

 

Poplin

The poplin in the woven fabric is a plain weave fine fabric woven from cotton, polyester, wool, cotton-polyester blended yarns,

It is a dense, smooth and shiny plain weave cotton fabric. Different from ordinary plain cloth, its warp density is obviously greater than weft density, and the surface of the fabric is formed with a diamond-shaped grain pattern composed of raised parts of warp. The fabric has a wide range of weights. Lightweight fabrics can be used for men's and women's shirts and thin pants, and heavier fabrics can be used for jackets and pants.

 

 

Oxford

Oxford cloth among woven fabrics is a new type of fabric with various functions and wide applications.

The main products on the market are: double-frame, full-bomb, nylon, and tige.

It is generally monochromatic, but because the warp yarn is dyed thicker, and the heavier weft yarn is more dyed white, the fabric shows a mixed color effect.

 

 

Twill (Twill)

Twill in woven fabrics is usually woven with two-over-one twill, 45° oblique weave, the front side of the fabric has obvious twill lines, and the back side is relatively fuzzy.

Twill cloth is usually easier to recognize because of its clear texture. Common denim is also a kind of twill.

 

 

Denim (Denim)

The denim in the woven fabric is a kind of twill fabric, and it is common to have left and right diagonals. Denim is one of the most important clothing fabrics today.
